Kellie Adkins, MS, eRYT200, RYT500
Kellie Adkins began her journey into yoga with Rodney Yee DVDs at the age of 17. Although her attraction to yoga was immediate, the discipline to practice regularly & the good fortune of practicing with a teacher took 6 more years to manifest. Her next significant encounter with yoga was as a graduate student in Nutrition Sciences at Florida State University. Harried & stressed from a research-driven graduate degree, Kellie took refuge in Tallahasseee's first & only Power Yoga Studio: Prana Power Yoga. In studying yoga with Studio Director Robyn Ceballos & her brother Richmond Dickson, Kellie found the peace, strength and balance she was seeking in other areas of life. In 2007, Kellie completed a 200-hour teacher training with Leslie Hank's Yoga Unlimited, focusing on Classical Yoga and Ayurveda. Later in the year, Kellie also completed a 500-hour Yoga Therapist Training with the PranaVinyasa School of Yoga. Kellie is currently studying with gifted teachers Saraswati Devi and Vaz Rogbeck in a 1000-hour Applied Yoga Therapist Training program. In addition to her formal yoga trainings, Kellie has attended workshops and classes with Bryan Kest, Rolf Gates, Tripsichore, Kim Lien-Kendall, Kate Greer, and other gifted teachers. Kellie is profoundly grateful to have the opportunity to share her love of yoga with others on a daily basis!
Kellie truly believes that there is nothing in this life a good dose of breath cannot cure. "Yoga is a powerful tool for personal growth and change and I am grateful to all of my teachers, past and present." Kellie welcomes the opportunity to share the skills she has learned along the way & to offer the healing benefits of a regular yoga practice to you. All yoga is therapeutic: if you can't find what you need in a group setting, Kellie is happy to design a yoga practice suited for your unique needs. Contact Kellie for private sessions.
In addition to her yoga education, Kellie holds a M.S. in Nutrition Sciences from Florida State University and a B.A. in Religions from New College of Florida. Kellie is passionate about inspiring people to make positive changes in their life and currently holds workshops and works individually with clients to initiate lifestyle changes. Becoming a yoga instructor seemed like a natural step on my healing yoga journey. The lessons I learn in yoga can be applied to all aspects of life: relationships, business, home, family, finances – everything. Kellie and Steve have created an amazing, supportive yoga community in Leesburg and I feel honored and blessed to be part of the Jeweled Lotus tm Yoga family. I hope to share the “jewels” of yoga passed on to me by my teachers with the students of Jeweled Lotus tm Yoga.
Namaste, MyLinda”

Destry Turner, LMT, CYT100
Destry completed her teacher training in 2002 with Tim Miller, who was the first person from the states to receive permission to teach ashtanga yoga by K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. She has a long history with yoga and a strong ashtanga background, however she understands that we never stop learning and continues to deepen her training---both as a student and as a teacher. Destry has been a massage therapist since 1998 and feels that her understanding of anatomy helps her be a better yoga instructor. She also understands that people come to yoga for different reasons and likes to plan her classes around the needs of all students. Classes can be fast paced, focusing on strength, flexibility, & breath; or a slower paced class that keeps the focus more internal while increasing flexibility & helping tone the body.
Destry is currently enrolled in the Radiant Transitions 250-hour Yoga Teacher Training. She teaches the Fire Core Abs class currently and will be teaching the Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga class on Sunday mornings at 9:30 beginning March 7.

Unless we practice loving feelings toward everyone we meet, day in, day out, we're missing out on the most joyous part of life. If we can actually open our hearts, there's no difficulty in being happy. - Ayya Khema
